Sponsor the 10th edition of Greensprings Kanu Football Camp, and let's raise the next generation of soccer stars together.

INTRODUCTION

We are excited to present the sponsorship proposal for the 10th edition of Greensprings Kanu Football Camp (GKFC) to your esteemed organization.

As one of the most popular sports worldwide and the most beloved sport in Nigeria, football has positively impacted our country, because it unites us as a nation, and has facilitated several "grass to grace" stories of Nigerian international football stars playing in top football leagues around the world.

Beyond the unity and transformation of so many lives in Nigeria, football helps children to develop vital life skills such as leadership, perseverance, commitment, and team spirit.

With the tremendous positive impact of football on our country, and so many children thriving through sports, it became necessary for Greensprings School to partner with Nigeria's football legend Kanu Nwankwo in 2012, to start the annual Greensprings Kanu Football Camp.

The goal of the football camp is to enable children to learn the core skills required to become professional footballers, and this goal is being achieved annually, with several alumni of the camp now playing for European football clubs.

A few of them have also represented Nigeria at the Under 15 level, and two of them, Jubril Azeez and Light Eke, are vital members of the current Under 17 Golden Eaglets squad.
With your partnership, we aim to nurture more young football talents who will grow up to strengthen our national team and bring back our lost glories in the round leather game.

STRUCTURE OF GKFC

Greensprings Kanu Football Camp is a five-day intensive football training project, where boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 17 years old undergo training by top coaches from Europe, complemented by coaches from the Lagos State Football Association, while Kanu Nwankwo provides mentorship for the children during the camp.

The drills children undergo during the camp include one-touch shooting, three-goal drills, lay-offs, turns, chest control, headers on goal, basic short passes, shuffling passes, tackling, slide tackles, goalkeeping, and other exciting drills.

The objective of Greensprings Kanu Football Camp is to empower children through football and education; therefore, at the end of each camp year, academic scholarships to study in Greensprings School are awarded to the “Most Promising Players” of the camp.

CAMP VENUE

The venue for the football camp is Greensprings School, Lekki campus, located at KM 40, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Awoyaya, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.

The campus is purpose-built for sports, and it is regarded as the Centre of Excellence in sports because of its world-class sporting facilities and the numerous sports accolades that have been won by the campus’ students.

HOW GKFC HAS TRANSFORMED LIVES

We have trained about 2,200 children in the last 9 editions of the camp. The international coaches we invite have trained over 200 Lagos State coaches, who have gone on to impact the lives of
children at the grassroots levels and beyond.

We have awarded full academic scholarships to 13 children to study at Greensprings School. 4 alumni of GKFC are playing professionally in football clubs in Europe, while learning alongside.
5 alumni of GKFC have featured in the Under-17 team of Nigeria at some point, with 2 of them (Jubril Azeez and Light Eke) currently in the squad.

As part of the outcome of GKFC, at least one child gets a heart surgery sponsored via the Kanu Heart Foundation.

THE NEED FOR FINANCIAL PARTNERS

The funds required to run the GKFC project are generated
through the registration fee paid by parents, guardians or
sponsors of camp participants.

However, the funds generated doesn’t cover the cost of
running the camp – not to mention the cost of funding
the education of the Most Promising Players who are
awarded full scholarships and the school literally provides
everything they need to settle in nicely.

Nevertheless, we are committed to continue running the camp because of its positive impact on our society and the renewed hope it brings to an average Nigerian child. We would like to work with financial partners like you to enable us touch the lives of more children together, through the Greensprings Kanu Football Camp project.
